To learn more about any of these committees and the work that we do, please attend one of our meetings, or visit our online message board.
Residential Committee
We have 2 active advocacy committees: Residential and Commercial.
The Residential Committee helps to identify private residences that may need our preservation assistance.
They plan private tours amd provide support to historic home owners. The Residential Committee recently finished a wonderful brochure which we will post soon.
Commercial Committee
We have 2 active advocacy committees: Residential and Commercial.
The Commerical committee is focussed on the quickly vanishing commercial Modern landscape of
Los Angeles. This committee is often faced with last minute urgent actions and could use a new member like you!
This committee plans events, surveys the city landscape for significant architecture
and helps to nominate buildings for historic designation.
Don't miss the text from the commercial committee brochure "Profiting From Preservation."
Signage Task Force
The Signage Task Force is focussed on the wonderful and graphic signage around town.
If you enjoy neon art, graphic design, typography and iconography - then this is the committee for you!
Membership and Outreach Committee
Would you like to meet new people? The outreach and membership committee is a great way to do this.
These people go out to find locations for future meeting and events and other ways to involve our surrounding communities.
We also need folks who are willing to reach out and say hello to new people
who drop in on our meetings and help encourage them to get involved.
Website Committee
The website can use all sorts of help from the hardcore technical, to fun stuff like listing
upcoming calendar events.
Contributing and maintaining links in our site is easy, doesn't take too much time and you can
volunteer from the comfort and convenience of your own home or office!
Speaker's Council
Like to do public speaking? Are you a wannabe star? Then get involved in our speaker's council.
The Modern Committee has a complete slide show presentation available for public events
and we need folks who don't mind getting up behind a darked room of strangers and converting
them to the Modern way!
